All UF staff, faculty, and students are responsible for knowing and complying with UF's Information Technology Security Policy. This page contains links to some policy 'highlights' which can help you become aware of the various requirements.
- Draft Policies Available for Review: Did you know that the Information Security Advisory Committee (ITAC-ISM) is working on several drafts of new and revised standards and guidelines. You can see the latest versions at http://www.it.ufl.edu/policies/security/drafts.html .
- Incident Response: Did you know that compromised hosts must be rebuilt before reconnecting them to the network?
- Private Data Responsibilities: Security incidents involving hosts used with private data such as social security numbers or financial accounts must be reported to the UF Privacy Office.
- Change Management Requirements: Changes to IT resources must be planned, documented and announced to the appropriate audience.
- Network Scans: It is a violation of UF IT security policy to subvert vulnerability scans.
- Copyright Infringement Incident Response: Any formal Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) complaints received directly from a representative of the copyright holder should be referred to UF's designated agent.
