C-SAFE Seminar

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the University of
Florida's IT Security Team are presenting a free, half-day seminar for
the public, on April 24, to help citizens and businesses protect
themselves from the dangers on the Internet.
The Cyber Security Awareness for Everyone (C-SAFE) seminar will begin
at 8:30 a.m. in UF's Reitz Union room 282. UF students, faculty and
staff, as well as all the Gainesville community, are encouraged to
attend.
C-SAFE focuses on how citizens and businesses can secure their
computers and safeguard themselves from cyber crimes such as identity
theft, cyber stalking, and viruses. Topics include safe e-mail
practices, preventing identify theft, recognizing scams, and securing
wireless networks.

Every month, new cyber threats surface that endanger Florida's
citizens. With our ever-growing reliance on computers at home and in the
workplace, we must be vigilant in the fight for better cyber security.
